Booking Policy

Payment

We must receive your booking in writing on our booking form together with a deposit of 10% of the total amount; the balance of your rent being due 1 week before your holiday starts. Non payment of the balance of the rent by the due date shall be construed as a cancellation of the contract.

 

Cancellation

We understand that things can change, but we would be grateful of as much notice as possible if you have to cancel you break.  If you are able to cancel 2 weeks before your break, we are able to ensure that there will be no cost to you.  In the event of cancellation in the 2 weeks prior to your break, we will do our utmost to ensure that we re-let the property, in which case we will be able to return your deposit, however, in the event that this isn’t possible, then unfortunately the deposit will not be refundable.

 

Arrival and Departure Times

Check in time if from 3pm and check out at 11am, though please do ask should you require an earlier or later time and we can check whether the property is in use before or after and do our best to accommodate.

 

Complaints

Please do let us know should you have any cause for complaint and we will of course do our utmost to resolve this for you as soon as possible.

 

Non Availability of Property

We apologise should we have the need to cancel your booking in the event of any issue with the property beyond our control, for example as a result of flooding.  Should this be the case, all rent will be refunded in full and we would like to offer a 10% reduction should you choose to book with us again as a way of apology.

 

Right of Entry

There may be occasions where we need to enter the property to undertake some checks (such as the hot tub) or quick repairs.  We will always check with you first should you be in and advise that we have had to enter the property on your return should you not be in at the time.

 

Liability

We shall not be liable to you or any member of your party for any loss or damage to person or property arising from the letting.

 

VAT

VAT is included in the rental where applicable.

 

Loss, Damage & Care of Property

The hirer is responsible for any loss or damage to the property (reasonable wear and tear excluded), for taking good care of the property and leaving it in a clean and tidy condition. Should it be found that an excessive amount of cleaning is required a charge will be made.

 

Linen

Linen is provided for you in all areas, but please do feel welcome to provide your own should you prefer.

 

Pets

Pets are very welcome and we have provided a bed, throws and a crate for your use.  Throws are provided for the sofas and beds if your pet would prefer to sleep on these (why wouldn’t you??!).

 

Cots and Highchairs

We have a travel cot, highchair and bed guard available should they be needed.  Please do let us know and we can ensure these are available for you.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on FreeToBook Booking System or at The Lonnings, Sneckyeat Farm, Hensingham, Whitehaven, Cumbria, CA28 8XZ.

We keep your contact details for 6 months after the end of the tax year. We will then dispose your information by permanently deleting your information from our systems and shredding any paper documentation.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
